The joker is an obvious one for his wonderfully flamboyant performance. Well done Heath - you are greatly missed.

Before I go on to other characters I liked...here's one I hated: Sarah Connor. Both movies. Annoyed the life out of me.

I thought Leon was a superb character. Original but not very complex.

    And of course...

    Roadhouse.

The guy who was a pizza slice and ate himself. Can't remember the film. He was on a spaceship.

and he was pepperoni I think.

That would be Pizza the Hutt, from Spaceballs. Ate himself to death in the back of his limo, tragic.

    Harry Callaghan

There is obviously the famous quote:
I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
    And my favourite quote:
Harry Callahan: Well, when an adult male is chasing a female with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy.
The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?
Harry Callahan: When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross!
[ Harry walks out of the room]
The Mayor: He's got a point.

I watched Election the other night, and Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon) has jumped straight in to my top 10. I haven't seen such scary intensity since De Niro in Taxi Driver. In school I knew a girl who was a bit like that, but Flick turned it up to 11 set fire to it.
Dear Lord Jesus, I do not often speak with you and ask for things, but now, I really must insist that you help me win the election tomorrow because I deserve it and Paul Metzler doesn't, as you well know. I realize that it was your divine hand that disqualified Tammy Metzler and now I'm asking that you go that one last mile and make sure to put me in office where I belong so that I may carry out your will on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

―Oscar Wilde predicting Social Media, in The Picture of Dorian Gray
