Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Okay, this one is a bit... dark, but we'll give it a go.

They're these Japanese riddles that I saw online ages ago.

So basically there's an elevator that can hold a maximum of 12 people.

However, one morning when twelve (Average weight and height) people get onto the elevator, the thing refuses to move and complains that its passengers have exceeded the weight limit!

    Why is this?

Balls. I thought it was because they all had trace amounts of radiation in them from WW2, and the water elements of their body's was heavier than normal, and between 12 of them, it added up to a noticable difference.

A manager of a factory has 10 conveyor belts churning out chocolate bars. One of the belts is giving out bars 10% heavier than the others, say 110g as opposed to 100g from the other 9. He needs to find out which one and fix the problem. However, he can only use the weighing scales once. How does he do it?
You already know one of them is giving out bars that are 10% heavier?
    How?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

The women have paid 9 euro each. Each paid out €10 and got back €1. €10 - €1 = €9.

    3 x €9 = €27.

    The waiter has €2.

The twist is that the waiters €2 is included in the €27. €25 for the meal and €2 for the waiter. The original question effectively counted the €2 twice. The remaining €3 is the €3 that was refunded.
 this doesn't really explain where the trick is.
    MrStuffins wrote: »
3 women go to a restaurant. The bill is €30. They put €10 each on the table and the waiter collects.

The cashier says there's been a mistake, the bill should've been €25 and returns 5 €1 coins to the waiter, which of course can't be divided evenly between 3. He puts €2 in his pocket and gives each lady back €1.

Now they each have €1 each, they've paid €9 each.

    €9 x 3 = €27

Add the €2 the waiter has in his pocket and you have €29.............

    where's the other €1 go?
It should read " take away the €2 the waiter has in his pocket and you have €25"

    :D

What was the real answer to that riddle???
