Asian paints are best. You should use primer also to make it long lasting.

Eggshell will do the job nicely.

Gloss white yellows over time, where as eggshell doesnt.:)

BIN Primer to seal and prime wood and any knots in the skirting and doors.Fully dry and repaintable in under 1 hour.

    Then 2 coats of eggshell.

Will last for years to come.:)

    Its a paint brand/company in India...wow.

We do have paint brands and paint manufacturers here in Ireland though.

Well done on buying your new home.

Is the woodwork currently painted? If so a undercoat and finish, gloss/satin/eggshell finish will probably do you. Sand and fill prior to your start. Lightly sand between coats.

If the timber is varnished its a lot more work, sanding really. Try and remove as much of it as possible before you apply any paints and stay away from Zinzeer bin as it chips very easily.

As for brands, I like Dulux's oil undercoats. For finish paints that depends on your budget. But it really is worth paying that little bit more for quality. Materials and paint usually cost about 10% of a paint job, so it is well worth while buying a decent one. Of course you are doing this yourself so its up to you.

Try Colourtrend, which make a lovely water based, or Little Green for a quality oil based, in eggshell and gloss.
