Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Duck pond

As part of a yard clean up, im moving my 6 hens and 4 ducks from a 6x10 wooden garden shed to a 14ftx 10ft cement shed with a 14ftx10ft cement pen out the back with a pond for the ducks.

I have 4 baby ducks will be joining the 4 ducks and 8 more RIR and light susex hens coming soon also.

So the question, in the outside area, 14x10ft i want to build the pond for the ducks and hens to have a run when i dont let them out into the yardon say a rearl wet day, or a day im away. It will be fox and mink proof.

How will i build the pond. it needs to be solid as the plan is to suck it clean with either a 2" water pump or a slurry tanker, i want it build as cheap but effective as i can.

    All ideas considered.

    kids paddling pool

Wount the suction from a water pump/vacuum tank break this? or do you mean a solid plastic one like those "sand turtles" I have no kids and i dont think my nephew had one that i could borrow

the sandbox thing would be a better job alright. A lad I used to work for did that.

it will only have 20 gallons or so in it so no need to suck it. just give it a tip over
