looking for a group volunteer opportunity

Does anyone know a charity/school/youth group around Limerick who could use a group of 10 to 20 volunteers some afternoon towards the end of the month to do something like painting or planting or otherwise helping out? It's for a work thing - we'd rather do some volunteering than for instance, paintball, but unfortunately can't put a lot of time into organising something. Also we can't do a street collection or bag-packing.

If there was a charity that needed to do up a house, or school, and could lay on an organiser, we'd love to pitch in and help.

    Any leads appreciated, thanks.

thanks Roast - that's a good possiblity. The only thing is, they're nearly an hour out of the city, so if we could find something closer it would make better use of time. Thanks though - they do seem set up for it, and it's a great cause.

I'm still hopeful we could find some group that wants, say, a hostel community centre or houses painted or something done up. If we could get something like that close in to the city, it would be brilliant

Why not pick an area of the city or where ever ye are based and give it a clean, pick up papers, dig up weeds on the footpath ?

how about contacting some place like pieta house or the mens homeless shelter in the city and asking if they have jobs that need doing, and then they would have the time to get in materials needed to do the jobs

St. Munchin's Parish have a service for the old folks in the community where people go to houses to do odd jobs, painting etc. St. Munchin's Church is opposite the Treaty Stone so you can't get more central than that! I'm sure they would love to have some help.
The parish office office number is 061-455635 / 061 455133. They'll be able to put you in contact with the correct person 061-455635 / 061 455133 E-mail: stmunchinspresbytery@eircom.net

Brilliant - thanks a million, everyone. I think we have an afternoon of painting lined up now.

Great that there's so much voluntary stuff going on in the city
