Brighten up a dull view of a white wall

One of the windows in our kitchen looks out to the side of the house. All we can see is a white wall about 8 foot high, and about 5 feet away from the window (separated by concrete side passageway). Behind this we can see the side of our neighbours house, also plain white.

Any suggestions for brightening this up. Was thinking some kind of planters? Or pots that I could hang on the wall?

    Thanks

You could grow climbers in tubs up the wall on a piece of trellis.

thought of that, but would prefer to keep pathway clear of pots

Go to Google images and look up vertical gardens.

Black trellis frames and the likes of "Clematis Armandii" (evergreen climber with lovely white summer flowers).:)

That will break up a white wall nicely.

Or even a perspective trellis, (with climbers) make the wall further away!
