Bit scary that you asked this just four weeks before the leaving cert.

Paper one is from the old course, with no changes. Paper 2 is mostly the new course except for the old area and volume.

Paper 1, will look the exact same as the previous years so have a look at the past years for paper 1.

Here is a sample for paper 2, so it will look like this.

This year it is phase 1 and phase 2.. Thats all you need to worry about. Next year they will introduce new phases and get rid of some of the old course until eventually it will be all new course.

Sorry for misunderstanding. :o ! Will it be phase 1 & 2 on one paper which will be paper 2 ?

On paper one it will be the old course which is Arithematic, two questions on Algebra, complex numbers, sequences and series, three questions on functions and differention. You only answer 6 out of the 8.

On paper two you will have a question on algebra from the old course and then everything else is the two new phases which can include alot of different things such as the line, the circle, trignometry, probability, statitics, geometry, constructions etc.

Just to clarify, as it seems Raeone has mixed up Phases with Strands:

The 2012 Leaving Cert exam involves only Phase 1 of Project Maths. This consists of Strand 1 and Strand 2 of the new syllabus. Both of these strands appear on paper 2 only, so paper 1 remains unchanged.

The 2013 Leaving Cert exam involves Phase 2 of Project Maths. This consists of Strands 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the new syllabus. Most of paper 1 will change, as well as all of paper 2.

The 2014 Leaving Cert exam involves Phase 3 of Project Maths (= final phase). This consists of all five strands of the new syllabus. Both papers will be fully changed.

P.S. There is no "Phase 2" exam in 2012. The 24 pilot schools are on Phase 3, and everyone else is on Phase 1.
