Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    My Sega Dreamcast, couldn't forgive myself if I chose anything else!!

    Honourable mentions however to my Xbox, minidisc player and cheapo mp3 CD player.

    The mini-disc.

    I was on the mini-disc majordomo mailing list and imported one
    from Hong Kong before they were available in Ireland.

    It was Huge In Asia long before it was available in Europe and the media
    push happened too late. Its major failing was that people kept comparing
    it to MP3 players and CD'R at the time. It was never meant to compete against
    this. It was designed as a replacement to tape. Some Sci-fi films/programs
    featured it back in the day such as the Film Strange Days, The Vampire British TV show Ultraviolet, and as far as I can remember the Matrix featured one.

    My Sony mobile phone with Polyphonic ringtones that you could compose. I also loved it cause it had a rollie wheel on the side that pretty much did everything include ironing your socks.

    Ten years ago it was definitely my 128MB mp3 player. Just enough to hold about two albums. It was tiny too; the player was an actual thumb drive, and then it ran on a AA battery. So overall about the size of two modern USB sticks. Not too shabby.

    Floppy disks. As I had no internet access at home, I'd stay late in college and pack as much porn into 1.44mb as possible for home use on an old computer.

    Got my first pc at home in early 2002, so I'd imagine my Celeron powered Dell beast was my pride and joy this time 10 years ago. Remember installing the original Thief on it and Deux Ex and wondering why everything was even more ropey looking than I had expected. (I didnt know about integrated graphics chips back then!)
