our keeper, passed the ball directly to Michael Donnellan.

He didnt pass it. He was dispossessed by Shay Walsh and the ball fell to Donnellan.

The earliest Galway football game I can remember attending was a Galway v Mayo championship game in Tuam in 1991 that ended in a draw after a Galway comeback. However, I am certain I must have attended matches before that...

Was that not 1989? I think it might have been. I was there as well but I would have thought it was earlier than 1991.

July 26th 1987 Páirc Uí Chaoimh-Cork V Kerry Munster Final is my very first memory of seeing a county match. My father is a Kerry man. Eventhough I was only six years of age I will never forget the roar when Mikey Sheehy squeezed that ball inside the post late in the game to draw the match.
First Galway(my home county) match was the 1988 All Ireland win over our good friends in Tipperary.

Not being pedantic or anything fearruanua, but Mikey Sheehys goal actually put us a point up. Larry Tompkins kicked a free at the death to level it. Twas some goal though in fairness, how he managed to score it I'll never know. I remember they announced over the tannoy during the game that Stephen Roche had won the Tour de France, great memories, although the next 10 years for Kerry were anything but great....

Mayo vs Leitrim at Hype Park in 1994.
Prepared me for the trend of disappointment that comes with being a Mayo supporter.

Galway v Mayo, first round of the Connacht championship in 1998. What a great summer that turned out to be :)

My dad took me to my first game in 1990 aged 6 but i remember very little. The first one i properly remember would have been Cork v Limerick in the '92 Munster Final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Limerick missed a great chance of a goal (Shane Fitzgibbon i think?) and Cork went down the other end and scored the most dubious goal of all time through Tomás Mulcahy. Prepared me well for a lifetime of near misses from Limerick.

Under 21 match between Tipp and Limerick in Semple around 1989/90 when i was 6/7. Wouldnt have went to alot of intercounty games until i was in my late teens and its probably only the last few years ive really stepped it up.
