Once again, IKF Promoter Mick Burke put together a first class Kickboxing and K-1 event in the beautiful Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.
Even though it was the height of the summer, the suppourters came in their droves to roar on their fighters and the athmosphere was amazing and with a total of eleven exciting bouts on the card including no less than four IKF All Ireland Titles, they certainly got their moneys worth.
The title fights were all set for five rounds and due to the excellent matchmaking, they all went the distance and had the audience holding their breadth for the decisions.
In fact, IKF Ireland prides itself with having the best possible contenders go forward for title fights with some of the fighters having to fight eliminator bouts at previous promotions around the country to even have a chance of being considered for a title shot - this is why the IKF are leaders in stand up combat sports in Ireland with many MMA clubs looking to get involved as they are attracted by the low kick and K-1 rules bouts on offer.
Mr Burke would like to thank all the fighters, coaches, fight fans, sponsors, medical staff, DJ, MC, Glove Runners, The Pillo Hotel Management & Staff, the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF), the set up crew and indeed anyone who helped make it such great nights Kickboxing.

The IKF are the only sanctioning body in the country that provide by email and have them posted on Facebook, the IKF Website and the Black Dragon Website, clear results, fighters stats and more importantly, recommended medical suspensions for any fighter that was stopped or KO'd and this information is sent to all the other promoters and sanctioning bodies in Ireland.
The reason for this is so that other promoters (regardless who they sanction with) will know at a glance if a fighter is fit to compete on one of their events or not.
Its shameful in this day and age that some promoters actually run their events WITHOUT having a certified, licensed Doctor on duty - medics/paramedics etc are not enough and any coach who lets their fighter/s compete on these events is extremely irresponsable.
If there is no certified, licensed, professional doctor on duty throughout the evening to oversee the event and carry out the Pre-fight medicals at any Kickboxing or related events then the coach and fighter/s should turn around and go home!
If a so called promoter doesnt do their best to provide the fighters on his/her show with the best possible medical cover just to save a few Euros, then surely they are not worth dealing with.
