It's my bf's 21st next week, but as he's in the middle of college exams I just wanna take him out for a meal as we'll be celebrating properly in June.

Can anybody suggest where on the North side to take him? Don't have a great budget, could stretch to maybe €50-€60 (at the very most) for the whole night. Also a place we can actually talk? :P

    Thanks in advance

I'd agree with this. Lovely atmosphere, nice staff and not overly expensive.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Should have said, I mean city centre northside. He lives in Stoneybatter, I live near Connolly station, so preferably somewhere near either?

There's a deal for it on at the moment as well

    3 Course Meal for 2 for €47

Pretty much favourable reviews here- http://www.tripadvisor.ie/Restaurant_Review-g186605-d952858-Reviews-La_Peniche-Dublin_County_Dublin.html

It's pretty unique in any case.

It's on the Southside of the city though, but who knows, maybe by the end of it you'll be on the Northside.

Have a look at L Mulligan Grocer in Stoneybatter, the food is fantastic. Its a gastropub with a good atmosphere, but no tv's or music. It's towards the top end of your budget, but its very good. Plus loads of craft beers!!!!

One Pico is nice but may be just out of your price range..

another one my missus got me to try recently is brasserie sixty6. she booked via menu pages which give you free cocktail.. price wise is just about outside your range..

i'd advise to give menupages a quick run over, they have some decent deals tha won't break the bank for two person..
