is that -1 handicap or Asian handicap?

If it is the former, it is rubbish to think it will come in easy. Bosnia isnt a goal scoring monster and Liechtenstein hardly ever get completely played of the pitch like the San Marino's of this world.
Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland all got beaten there in recent years.
Portugal once got away lightly with a 0-0 not that long ago.

These are the kind of matches where you might catch out a bookie by going +AH on the home team

Fair point, but i just think with the likes of Dzeko they would have enough to get a 2 goal win out there hopefully.

    It was a straight handicap.

Actually I have to admit I don't understand the asian handicap thing. :o

    How does it work?

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 20,862 Mod ✭✭✭✭inforfun

    Simple enough.
If you take -1 AH and they win 1-0\2-1\3-2 etc, your bet is void.
Odds are, obviously, lower though than straight handicaps.

So its like a draw no bet for handicap betting?

    Not really.
A win by 2 goals >> you win
A win by 1 goal >> you void
A draw or defeat >> you lose.

Thats what i meant really, that if when you take into account the handicap and you get a draw you get your money back.

Have to say I will def start looking at this bet from now on.

    Wales v Belgium
possible line up according to today's training game :

    Courtois-Gillet-Kompany-Vermaelen-Lombaerts-Vertonghen-Fellaini-Witsel-Dembélé-Hazard-Lukaku

Wales have added Swansea youngster Ben Davies for their World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Serbia. Midfielder Crofts picked up an ankle injury,Striker Bellamy will also miss the double header with a calf injury, with Cardiff team-mate Robert Earnshaw  being called up as cover.

Belgium look just too strong for these Welsh folks unless the golden generation mess up again, for me they have to win to ensure qualifaction. Last time out they beat Holland (friendly) 4-2 and this just may give them the confidence to blow the Welsh away - I'm taking Belgium @ 17/20 and (-1) @ 5/2 before the odd drop anymore

A bit of time on my hand tonight (easy known there fuk all else on:eek:)
Was looking for some banker material for the next two days and ive come up with this - please let me know what you think but i think it looks solid
England u21 away to Azerbaijan @ 1/6 (afraid to go for the handicap)
Italy U21 at home to Liechtenstien (-2)@ 8/15 (ill be doing this seperate too up to (-4) handicap)
    Germany U21 at home to Belarus (-1) @ 2/5
    Scotland U21 at home to Luxenbourg (-1) @ 1/4
    Germany v Faroe - BTTS no @ 1/4
All comes in at approx 2/1 - if better value out there let me know as i will not place this bet till tomorrow

Sorry odds are more like 3/1 not 2/1

    Also in the U21's
Italy (-2) and Germany (-1) double and
    Italy (-3) @ 13/10 and Germany (-2) 11/10 double

Anybody any opinions works out around 4/1. But considering Switzerland instead of Ireland.

    Belgium, Russia -1 and Ireland.

    At 11.15 this morning;

    Japan - UAE
Japan to win to 0 @evens

No idea about the Japanese team.
UAE are on a 6 match winning streak but that is against club teams in friendlies and the likes of Lebanon and Palestine

With Atsuto Uchida, Yasuyuki Konno and Yuzo Kurihara all suspended, Zaccheroni will be fielding an experimental defensive lineup.
    .....

The japan match is a friendly, cant see why suspensions would matter.

That 4/5 on Ireland maybe not as nice as i thought.

May not have a massive bearing on the game but the pitch is artificial .

i read it in one article, if you want i could post it here. Maybe they are suspended for next qualie match, and Zach is trying new defensive lineup?

    david ferrer to win

    4/1 £10

Cant open that link, at work.

Not too worried about japan, it is the UAE after all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 467 ✭✭Alaska1

Any line up for Japan ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2 Two Doors Down

Anyone else worried about going big on Ireland, great price for such an easy game but with Traps selection we could mess up.

Think Belgium are a lay away at Wales. Really talented bunch of individuals but they've shown little to no cohesion in competitive games the last few years and are being consistently turned over at short odds.

    Belgiums problem is their backs.
They dont have them so they need to play central defenders there. Vertonghen will play left back and i think it is Alderweireld who plays right back.
Defensively that isnt much of an issue but todays footbal needs left and right backs than can basically deputise as wingers and those 2 cant do that.

Takes away a lot of Belgium's strength. Some great players but not the greatest team.

They did score 4 vs Holland and could have scored a few more even but that wasnt because their attacking play was so brilliant, had more to do with the way the Dutch defense and midfield were a shambles.

Still, it would be a disappointment if they cant win in Wales.

Part 1 is in. 1-0 FT

Next part is Belgium to beat Norway in the U21's also @evens IIRC and Spain U21 to beat Switzerland.

Norway above Belgium in the group but it is all a bit skewed because of the 6 matches played, Belgium played only 2x at home and Norway only 2x away from home.
Match in Norway finished 2-2 between these 2.

Spain U21 speaks for itself. Last meeting was 3-0 in Spain.

Latvia u21 at 11/10 looks a decent price
Against Kazakhstan the two teams drew there last match 0-0 Latvia are at home this time.

unsure about this russia game now tomorrow

looking at their recent results they have had alot of 1-0 1-1 at home but then again they havent been playin NI.

the overs 2.5 is at 1.74 its tempting..at least the last 6 NI's matches have had over 3 goals

I'm on Russia -1, -2, -3, ht/ft and over 2,5 , total bets about 50 euro. I really hope they bang in a few early goals to take the pressure off.

    I'd gladly settle for a 4-0 home win:pac:

Tough one to call this IMO , I would not read too much into Switzerland's 4-2 victory over Crotia as Crotia have a new manager who is under serious pressure from everyone ( nobody wants him), Slovenia are a solid team at home who Beat Serbia 1-0 in there last EQ, for me Swiz DNB or over 2.5 - that's if I was betting on it but I'm not ;)
