May 13th Final Matchday Madness Thread

    Remember these? :pac:

As its all kicking off at 3 pm tomorrow and not every match will have its own thread this can be used for the general chit about relegation, Europe, goal moments and such like.

Who of Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle can secure 3rd place, the value of 4th still being open to question with Chelsea in the CL final? Will it be Bolton or QPR who avoid the drop? Plus a few minor matters like top Merseyside club and top promoted side.

    Chelsea v Blackburn Rovers
    Everton v Newcastle United
Man City v Queens Park Rangers
    Norwich City v Aston Villa
    Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers
    Sunderland v Manchester United
    Swansea City v Liverpool
    Tottenham v Fulham
    West Brom v Arsenal
    Wigan Athletic v Wolvers

Bolton to fail to win at Stoke and go down.

Manchester City to beat QPR by a couple of goals and Sunderland to take a point off Manchester United.

Newcastle to draw with Everton, Arsenal to draw with West Brom, and Tottenham to beat Fulham.

Not to mention Spurs having a fair chance of stopping St. Totteringham's day for the first time ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,436 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    Bolton will go down.

Spurs to win and have feeling Arsenal will drop points.

City to win 5/6-0. Sunderland will get point against United.

I remember last year well the relegation battle was incredible! Think Bolton will beat Stoke tomorrow though!

Fancy City by at least 4 and Utd to only draw at SoL.

Think Spurs will beat Fulham and Arsenal will beat WBA. Newcastle to lose at Everton :(

Will miss the whole lot as i am running a 10k,i do not expect City to fail..they should put QPR away...

Expecting Bolton to lose and go down.........

Wigan 3-2 West Ham was one of the best games of the season. N'Zogbia just put the team on his back. Hard to believe that was a year ago now, it has flown by.

Newcastle to get a CL spot by virtue of them winning and someone slipping up.
QPR to go down, City to win the EPL.

Great game. Wasn't last day though was it? Didn't Wigan beat Stoke away (big hope for Bolton tomorrow consequently :D).

Won't be half as exciting tomorrow unfortunately.

All I would like to see is QPR relegated.

United to win 9-0. City to win 7-6. Title goes to playoff.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

QPR will park the bus and frustrate the hell out of City, and United will score early and be three up by 70 minutes. It will look like the title is going to OT, but City will score very late on, after the game has finished in Sunderland

I dont care about any result or match, barr a City win.

    :D

United to win 9-0. City to win 7-6. Title goes to playoff.

Would it not go to head-to-head?

Would it not go to head-to-head?

Wiki says no, open to correction though.
Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. At the end of each season, the club with the most points is crowned champion. If points are equal, the goal difference and then goals scored determine the winner. If still equal, teams are deemed to occupy the same position. If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation, or for qualification to other competitions, a play-off match at a neutral venue decides rank

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Anyways, Arsenal to be lose 2-0, while Spurs are 3-0 up, only for Fulham to come back and draw and Arsenal seal third :(. Newcastle to lose away to Everton on the basis that Everton will be doing their best to finish above Liverpool. City to finish the season off in style with an Aguero hat-trick and Balotelli to score a back heel from outside the box.

United to win 3-0. City and QPR to draw, COME ON UNITED

    No

    City to win comfortably
Arsenal and Spurs both win and finish 3rd and 4th
    Bolton relegated

I would like a massive upset either for the title or relegation, but not getting my hopes up

If one of the London clubs finishes 4th I'd love Chelsea to win the CL to spark war with one of their rivals

Why would they even bother with the UNited game. Think they'd show Bolton or one of the ones going for the CL!!

United could be playing tiddlywinks and would still get more viewers than most games.

Arsenal to be 2-0 up with 10 mmiutes to go but escape with a draw. United will score before City but once City break the deadlock they'll win comfortably. Can Stoke still go down? :pac:

What matches are live on tv tomorrow ? Are Sky Sports covering more than jst United and City ? What game is Setanta showing ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

Bolton to stay up, QPR down, Arsenal to wallop West Brom 3-0/4-0, Fulham to nick something at the Lane, Newcastle to beat Everton with an obligatory Cisse goal, Man City champions and Xavi6 probably needing an ambulance to carry him home after his night out!!

Still a chance, no matter how small, that United can win the league. Nice attempt at getting a bite though.

Hope city get 3 or 4 first half goals..... I'd like the pressure to be lifted nice and early. I wouldn't really like the title to be in the balance with 10 to go.

    I can't see QPR losing...

Cos I'm not watching that match :P

QPR better lose and we beat Stoke! It's a UTD household but staying up will be better then winning the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,248 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

If City do win, I'll feel crap but hopefully Bolton can do the business against Stoke and send QPR down. I don't like them, I don't like Barton and I don't like Hughes. Good riddance if they go down.

Can see Sunderland surprising Man U..
everyone is talking about what QPR will have to do against City.. Man U have taken as a given that they will beat Sunderland....never that easy.

Think City will take a while to score, maybe even second half.... but once they do, they'll hockey QPR.

That Villa team is atrocious, 7 defenders, 1 midfielder, 1 striker and Heskey.

Stoke look a little bit weakened which could be good news for Bolton.
