Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In fairness to RTE I've loved The Voice, Republic of Telly and The Savage Eye. My sons love RTE Junior and I can only commend RTE for having an all kids station at last. If that's what my tv license is paying for I'm happy and the kids are happy and that's all that matters. If I don't want to watch something I change the channel simple as. It's not like RTE is the only broadcaster available to most of us anymore.

But it's the only one we're legally obliged to fund if we have a TV through the TV Licence. Most people have a lot of other channels, true, but they have to pay for the vast majority of them by paying a monthly subscription (which they can choose to end).

It's great if you're happy with RTÉ, but lots of people aren't and are entitled to complain as they fund the organisation.

Facebook snobs...if you don't use it that's fine but don't belittle those that find it a handy tool/form of communication. And to those that moan about the tripe other people post on Facebook, so what if it's tripe - in all honesty 95% of what is on Facebook is quite innocuous and harmless. If you have a particular friend or acquaintance that annoys you, either grow a pair and delete them or hide their posts - surely the irony of moaning all over the internet about other peoples internet habits cannot have escaped you !

    Politicians, politicians, and politicians.

I dislike arrogant people, and people who have an exaggerated idea of their own importance, and people who look down on others because of their perceived superior status, and people who lie and cheat to improve their wealth. That's why I dislike politicians.

People who write long passages like this.....and use ellipses instead of full stops....as it makes it seem like they've something very dramatic to say....that they're delivering in a very suspenseful manner....but they're really just writing something mundane.....I don't know why they don't just use full stops and commas....as it'd be quicker to write....

The worst is when some stranger tells you to "smile, it may never happen" - how do they know 'it' didn't just happen?
Anything at all could be the cause of you looking a bit down.
Do these people think their stupid comment will be well received?
Do they think it will help in some way?
They should just mind their own business.

This is what I came in here to post. It's one of the most obnoxious things anyone can say. Usually said by people who have the easiest lives ever and have no concept of any kind of suffering. Their 'bad days' are when they've missed their bus or forgotten their umbrella. I think the reason I hate it so much is that it's so self-centered. It's like saying 'hey, stop looking so miserable because it makes ME feel down and ruins MY nice view' - if these people actually gave a sh*t, they'd ask if everything was OK.

The last person to say this to me did it on the day after I found out one of my best friends had been found dead at the age of 26 after she'd been missing for a week. I'd only just arrived back from my granny's funeral a few days earlier. Oh, I'm SO sorry I have the nerve to look depressed.

People who make underhanded comments to you about you, whether it be your appearance/personality/intelligence etc. They always do it in such an implicit way that if you were to try and re-tell it to someone else, they would think you're daft and over-reacting. It's hard to explain, but I consider it a type of bullying, and a means of bringing a person down for no good reason. Jealousy is probably a contributor to it.

People who make everything about themselves, drives me insane! I went out with a couple of friends for my last birthday, and one of them (who I've been distancing myself purposefully from) saw someone she didn't like and started with all the ridiculous statements of how "her" night was ruined, and she was so depressed she couldn't enjoy herself anymore. Needless to say, her sulking ruined the night, just brought down the tone and she bitched for the remainder of the night.

I'm ok:) Thank you though. I'm just reeling from realising the guy I've been seeing for 5 months (and had totally fallen for) had "changed his mind" about wanting a real relationship and loving me and stuff. I might just be being bitter though, maybe he really did just change his mind. But I'm just at that grumpy stage where all men are bstards in my eyes...;)

people who know more trivial background information about a band like what year the members were all born and lots cool facts about this one b-side they released a few years ago, then they buy a ticket to go to the concert and hardly know any of the words to any of the songs.

People falsely claiming disability benefits because its too much of an effort to get up before 1pm, have a shower not out of a lynx can and go to work.

People who are so horribly over-politically correct.

Just thought of a few more (I'm clearly just an easily-annoyed person :pac:):

    -People who eat really loudly

-People whom I can only describe as the "rabble-rabble" crowd - the ones who are quick to jump on stereotypes and get offended without checking any facts (includes a lot of Daily Mail readers!). The ones who tar all public sector workers, all single parents, all students, all arts students, all immigrants or all teenagers with the same brush...

-People at Jervis Luas Station who look shocked/complain when the Luas is full at rush hour (I don't know why that one annoys me so much!). Also people on the Luas on the days of the GAA and hurling All-Ireland finals, especially those who don't seem to understand that holding onto the handrails stops you from falling over. They always seem to fall on top of me too and there's the domino effect :(. Hold on to the big yellow rails, that's why they're there!

Tv3 is not funded by the tv license and they do decent enough programming but I know where you're coming from. If Tubbs and the like weren't paid so extravagantly they'd be able to afford better programming. I have free to air sky but the amount of repeats is awful. The same film could be on a few times in a short while.

Bad manners and ignorance especially from middle aged people who should know better.

An example of this would be the person who closes the door in your face as you are following them into a building.

Anyone who says "ye". It's not a word. You sound ridiculous.

Anybody who thinks 'Ye' isn't a word.
It is, and has been for over half a millennium.
'Ye' as 'The', no, 'Ye' as 'You', yes.
Also, languages evolve - Google wasn't a verb 15 years ago.
Tablets are handheld computers, used to be drugs, but before that they were the early equivalent of a page.
Your namesake used to use them.
