Teaching religion in secondary school

Hi,

I'm studying french and philosophy in college and I'm just wondering would
anyone know if you can teach religion after you've done the Hdip or would you have to add on another course ?

What does teaching council require?

Maynooth do a post grad dip in theology, which a lot of teachers do, to add to their skills, so that looks like a good match.. Its done at nights too

Are you asking if you can teach religion with no degree in religion?

Was wondering how religion teachers became religion teachers, didn't know about the theology course

There are also teaching degree courses in Religion (and another subject) in Mater Dei and St. Angela's.

Thurles has one aswell which qualifies you to teach Gaelige and Religion.
