Ballyheigue Festival is on TV3 Wed night

    One of Kerrys most sucessful village festivals is due to be shown on TV3 this Wednesday (16th May) at 9pm.

    The Ballyheigue festival has gone from strength to strength in recent years and as a result last years festival was chosen by TV3 to be used in a program about Irelands Festival Queens.

    The program called "Irelands Beauty Queens" charts the history of some of Irelands village pageants. The film crew from, Mind the Gap Films, spent a number of days shooting last years festival and following one of the Festival Queens as they went through their preparations. They also filmed many of the Festival Events including Pig Racing, Tug of War, Soap Box Derby, Terrier Race, The Grand Parade and of course the Festvial Queen Selection.
    We hope that the viewers will see how action packed and full of fun our festival is and that it will promote Ballyheigue and the North Kerry Area. The event guide for this years festival includes the Keryhead Half Marathon as well as a number of other new events and will be available on the website www.ballyheigue.ie in the very near future.

    Part 2 of the show will be aired the following Wednesday (23rd May) at the same time.
