Chocolate scented penis plant wanted

I was reading about this remarkable sounding plant and thought it would make a perfect present for the girlfriend as she's a fan of both .

Now I know there are quite a few different varieties of this Amorphophallus species and not exactly sure how to go about this.

Would anyone have any suggestions?

You could allways try and make one yourself.

A few artificial leaves,some glue and some chocolate scent......and you get the idea.

Then you are allmost "up" and "in" there.:pac::pac::D

I presume it wants to be in a warm, moist place,..... (given that its a tropical plant.....)

But I wonder is there anything special she could do for it, to get it to grow that big?

And are you sure theres room, in the ladys garden, for a plant like that?

I had a species of voodoo lily once, I had to throw it out because it smelled very strongly of urine.

Dardevle........Maybe if you stuck your own in some..."peat free"...then it might eventually even grow for you.

Then you might finally be able see it,and know what it actually looks like.;)

Jeez, I never thought I would get this many replies and such a small percentage of actual help...

Anyway, a bit more research showed that it is actually called Amorphophallus Manta, a rare tropical plant that surprisingly actually seems to smell of chocolate when it flowers.

An earlier poster mentioned a urine smell, other varieties of the same plant have been known to smell of aniseed, rotten meat, cheese and other pungent smells.

Haven't found a single place that sells this rare plant though.

You can get a chocolate scented vine in Johnstown Garden Centre. Not the same, but maybe close enough. If the plant is that rare you probably won't be able to get hold of it.

And it really did smell of wee. (The voodoo lily, not the chocolate vine)
