Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Skinny or clear backed bras

I've gotten a couple of tops and dresses recently with a lace back, and I need a discreet bra to go with them. I've 34DD boobs so going braless is out of the question. Has anyone seen any bras around with clear plastic backs, ideally? Or else very slim backs? I doubt those stick-on cup things would do, and I want something I could wear regularly.

You can get bras with clear plastic backs in M&S and Debenhams. Penneys and Dunnes probably have them too. They're pretty common.

Ah great! I thought they'd disappeared from shelves over the years. I didn't see any in Debenhams, but will check out M&S tomorrow :)

For what it's worth, I'd definitely try to get a bra with a skinny back rather than a clear one.

The light reflects off the clear-back ones and it draws far more attention to it, it just looks really odd!

I've seen bras in (I think) m&s, with low backs. Or, New Look usually have ones with delicate pretty back straps!

Oh I just saw that they're lace-back tops - best one would be a nude coloured bra - hideous looking on it's own, but by far the least obvious under those sort of tops!

I thought that nude would work, chatterpillar, but they actually look pretty obvious. I'm hoping the lace will stop the light bouncing off the plastic too much :)

I'd go with the same colour as lace or some outrageous contrasting colour. You will not be able to make bra invisible so you can make it a feature.

I was thinking of trying that with one particular dress. Turns out nude is fine under most of them, but it looks awful with one dress. Rather than buying a bra just for one dress, I might try making the bra a feature...

Yeah +1 ive yet to see a bra with a clear back or straps that looks well tbh. Im much more a fan of making the bra the feature.
