Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    dont believe everything you hear!!

usually these people are the thickest of all

+1, its all in the way they say it. Some people have such confidence in themselves that they could tell you that the sky is pink with yellow polka dots and you would take it for truth because they seem so sure of themselves. Personally I often end up starting sentences with "I think" or "As far as I know" etc when I'm asked questions which makes it sound like I haven't a clue, even though I'm probably right, while others who haven't a clue what they're taking about give there answer with such certainty its automatically taken as truth.

It's called the Lake Woebegon Effect - after that little fictional town in Minnesota where "all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above-average". :pac:

If you've never heard a Lake Woebegon story, I can highly recommend subscribing to the podcast, or at least try this one, which is partly about education and memory:

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

My IQ is 164 but is a weight around my neck. I spend half my day biting my lip and generally hating everyone. Silently

I'd take literal IQ figures with a big pinch of salt.

OK, not unreal but good: my IQ is supposedly 150+ , but I'm kinda thick in some ways really.

I was reading long before I started school (at three.) Was always in the 99th percentile for everything, right through primary and secondary school. Did the SATs at thirteen, joined CTYI, MENSA etc. Got the crazy LC points and the 1.1 degree.

But I'm a bit of a f*ck up now though.

My mother often wonders where it all went wrong with me. :o
