Wild Camping - Dublin or Wicklow

A group of 6 of us are looking to go camping in the Dublin/Wicklow area this weekend. Ideally we would like somewhere we can have a campfire for as long as we like, near a pub and not too far from Dublin. Any suggestions? Also, is it illegal to camp near/on the beach?
