They promised basic Broadband in Kilrickle County Galway in April 2007 and can't provide a date yet with fibre outside the door.

What makes you think either eircom or their brand new Crack Chinese Cabinet Rollout team could organise 'dates ????

i know, that's why i am asking here. either they have a plan with scheduled install dates or they don't, or they are making it up as they go along!

I'l give you 2 chances of a date other than the one you know...31/12. :D

Sure their own ngb.ie and broadbanatoz.ie sites were littered with simple jobbies that had turned into serious overruns and delays and manana manana promises and so they simply nuked ngb.ie and broadbanatoz.ie off the internet when they got embarrasing....in the case of broadbanatoz.ie 2 years after the rollout was supposed to finish ....and didn't.

Here is a list of exchanges from the large April 2007 ADSL Rollout Programme.

None of them have Broadband yet despite wating over 5 years for it.

pity eircom wouldnt use Hibernia's 1GB fibre network

The fibre in NI is impressive up to 80mb now available but most of the investment is down to DETI, but our governments depts wont step up like they have because of the mess were in :(

The NGB.ie website was abandoned recently ( early May 2012) by eircom. By that stage they had 'NGB' enabled 290 out of over 1200 exchanges leaving 900+ exchanges with no NGB at that point in time.

They might do a few more and then again they might not.

If Eircom's rollout plans coincide with that of the Governments then it will be 2020 before most of Ireland will have decent broadband speeds..
