how to add lock on door

You can't fit them to PVC doors (afaik) because the doors aren't designed for those type locks. Your only choice is to replace the faulty lock or most likely just the Euro cylinder.

Try telling the landlord if he won't fix it asap you'll get someone who will and deduct the bill from your rent. It might nudge him.
