I see Weston bigging up an announcement for tomorrow. Anyone with insider info or just care to speculate?

They've already announced the runway drag strip for August & rock concert in the hangar in October with less fanfare so must be significant enough.

At a guess it is a reduction of landing fees. There current fees have discouraged general aviation. So I suspect they are going to announce a reduction of land fees or perhaps free landings when you buy fuel.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a drag strip? For drag racing?

Yeah that's right. Plenty of Porsches, Ferraris etc coming to play according to the adverts

Spot on. Reduced landing fees & significantly reduced for overseas aircraft that purchase fuel

Doubt that would be anytime soon, due to people who moved into a house by an airport and then complain about noise.

What have the fees been reduced to?

    Thanks...

10 euros for under 1000 kilo MTOW. 20 eur for Foreign aircraft as long as they pick up 20 litres avgas. Avgas is now down to 2.15 a litre. I think I will definitely visit them at some point, the only problem is the 7pm closing time, not really suitable for a working man..

this is effective August 1st for a trial period of 3 months.

13th of august. Car entries are still open but I'm not sure how spectating works.

The list of cars looks good.

The Royal Jordanian Falcons aerobatic team arrived in Weston today to participate in the 2017 Bray Air Show. The Falcons fly the Extra EA.300/L.
As far as my records go this is their 2nd visit to Ireland the 1st having been 37 years ago on 8/8/1980 when they arrived in Dublin flying Pitts Specials.

Filling a flight plan is the big turn off imo. Wish there was the option of calling outside the zone for permission to enter......

not officially, but you can do that if you approach from West, no problem. Call some few minutes out from M4 Plaza, not above 1500 and you will be sorted as long as there's no IFR traffic about.

The strict PPR requirement isn't that strict lately also as far as I know

As for the flight plans, now that you can do them on IAA website, I have my details saved on the form, it takes me 2 minutes to shoot a plan on my tablet, really no issue at all, can do that in flight if I need to, they only need 30 minutes to process it.
