Cheap Laptop or even Netbook?

Anyone know of any good deals on Laptops or Netbooks?

I remember just before Christmas Tesco were selling pretty decent Acer laptops for €299. I can't find anything in that region now, cheapest I'm inding is a Toshiba one on Argos for €349 & that's getting poorish reviews.

A decent netbook might do the job either because it's only really needed for internet browsing & maybe for the kids to watch movies on. (I know most netbooks don't have disc drives but I'm assuming you can plug a usb key in and watch them??)

Not really too keen on tablets at the moment but might be tempted if a great offer came up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would also prefer a shop to buy it in or online in Ireland (UK either I suppose)

Hey hogey007 I was looking for a cheap laptop a few weeks back and the cheapest I seen was in Littlewoods :eek: You do have to use a 20% discount code, this brought my price down to €335 and a few cents, you will need to try a few different codes as some are for 10% and others for 15%, Hope this helps in your search.

Cheers, never even thought of them for laptops, just after having a look and there's a couple there with the 20% discount taken into consideration that would be what i'd be looking for.

And thanks a mill for all the links Jarren, There's a couple there that caught my eye, I forgot all about powercity when i was scouring through websites over last few days.

Plenty of food for thought between both those replies....may go looking up reviews now on the few that caught my eye

Based In Toughers, Naas. Part of Rehab Group, they take computers form banks and major companies, wipe them clean, add in open software (open office, avg etc) and sell from €149.

Quite unbeatable imo and helping good cause. All pc's in my offices come from them and never any problems.

A couple of weeks ago, Tesco in Clare Hall in Dublin had Compaq Netbook (aka HP mini) for €189 - it was posted as a bargain alert.

I picked one up, and it's a grand job for browsing!

Worth checking if they've any left! (didn't see them anywhere else).
