I planted a new beech hedge last year.
I am struggling to keep the grass down from around the plants.
Any spray out there that will kill the grass and weeds but wont affect my hedge?

Dig them out and then mulch around with grass clippings.

Just mulch them with a good thick layer of grass cuttings, worked for me for the last few years.

This year I put bark mulch down instead.

You could install some Mypex membrane and bark mulch around new hedging.

Not a single blade of grass or a weed to be seen.

Also keeps the moiture in the soil and prevents the wind from drying out the soil too fast.It also prevents ground frost from getting down and killing the bare roots.Preventing these 2 things from happening are vital for bare roots to establish themselves, survive and grow well.
