Very warm and sunny here too. We're perfectly positioned in South Dublin for the Foehn effect from the Wicklow mountains today in those southerly winds :)

22.2 here in Longford. Very pleasant. The odd breeze coming in makes it feel a little cooler but its generally very calm at the mo.

Is there not supposed to be a change tomorrow and Friday? Jaysis I hope so, I've taken Friday off on the basis of forecasted summer weather. Been freezing and miserable in Dungarvan since Sunday night.
Please tell this won't go on??

I think it might be ok south east but south west still looks problematic I think. Just to make sure I don't get any sun I'm off to South Kerry (which is the epicentre of the cloud as far as I can see) for 5 days holidays from Saturday!

Beginning to cloud up now but was a lovely summers day here today. Presently 19.3c in a light breeze. Long may it continue:)

Should be a lot more in the way of sunshine tomorrow esp for the South who missed out today. The Easterly breeze will pick up tomorrow clearing most of the stubborn cloud. 25C is quite possible in the Northwest over the next couple of days. Indeed these sort of temps could well be the highest we see all Summer (who knows) so quite remarkable considering daily maxes for the last 6 weeks were closer to 12C

The wkd continues the warm spell though with a few thundery showers and a noticeable breeze on Saturday making coastal areas quite cool.
Go to Galway for the best of it!! ;)

21.2 C at both Finner and Malin Head today, followed by 20.7 at Belmullet, 20.5 at Dublin Airport and 20.4 at Casement.

Only 12.8 at Roche's Point, 13.2 at Cork Airport and 13.7 at Sherkin

Another dull and miserable day in Waterford with a max temp of 14.4c. I'm fairly optimistic we will see an improvement tomorrow and into the weekend. The wind change is the key ;)

Much warmer uppers will be moving in tomorrow which will allow temps to rocket in the afternoon. Temps could reach as high as 26C in favoured Northwestern areas.
Friday looks the best day before things get breezy over the wkd.

Friday looks the best day before things get breezy over the wkd.

Thicknesses should max out at around 560 dm, which in this setup would yield a maximum temperature of around 24 °C, assuming no morning fog and mostly clear skies. Best chance in west of the Shannon and into Donegal.

Managed 22.1C here today, I was working outside all day and could really feel the heat in the afternoon, tomorrow looking even better

High 20's in the Midlands on Friday as well!

And when the forecasters are referring to "the south" - where exactly are they talking about?

    Wexford, Waterford, Cork and Kerry,
    Waterford, Cork and Kerry,
    Cork and Kerry,
    Kerry ?????

    :confused::confused:

    Apologies should have said KERRY.

But I can see for myself, there is an improvement on the last few days anyway. Part Cloudy with Sun for now.

Bright and sunny in Fermoy at the moment, it was another horrible dull day yesterday, if it touched 13C it was the most in Cork and Fermoy. It is wonderful to see the country get great weather but Met Eireann did acknowledge the poor weather in the southern half of the country on the weather forecast last night.

19.4C here in the hills of Kilkenny, warmest day since I got my weather station last September, the record for the WS was 19.1C which was set in March.

Lovely Jubbly, really warm in the sun.

Already the warmest mean daily temper this year, with the first of March holding on for way too long! 18.6C in Cork city centre at the moment.

Not sure how accurate it is but the local station down the road is showing 24.5C here, stunning day again for working outdoors :)

A few stations up to 22C on the 2pm reports, should manage another degree or two before the day's out
