Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, This is my first Thread. Does anyone know how long Fodder beet seed will last in the ground before it germinates?? Sowed beet on the 10th April and some seeds still not emerged, Im blaming the cold weather, will they emerge when the weather gets warmer.
    Thanks.

It is fairly hardy and slower than sugar beet. Is it sowed deep? Is it in lay? Next week is to be warm so keep a check for leather jackets. Get a manure bag and leave it on the ground with a stone on it and see what appears....Any hailstone damage?

yea its sown in lay , I put out slug pellets last week, have checked for leatherjackets but didnt find any. Am hoping that the heat this week will bring up the seed that hasnt peaked above the surface
