Someone should bring a camera to it and give us a feed of it!

Hard to really discuss a game between two teams that have never played together before and even harder to get excited about a match you'll never see.

Meh, seems to be little or no point.

Well here's a discussion point related to the match.

Why is Paddy Wallace there? What's the point?Given the fact that he is 32 and he isn't touring why play him in this game ahead of someone like Nevin Spence (or some other youngster) who is on the bench?

Like most people I find it ironic that Wallace has been dropped from the squad when he's playing the best rugby of his career and tbh I'd actually have him in the starting XV for Ireland never mind the squad but that ship has sailed and if he isn't touring why play him in this game?

Maybe Kidney finally feeling guilty about ignoring his form the last few years

I'd say it's because of his experience within the Irish system. Spence wouldn't be anywhere near his level but with Murray, ROG, and Wallace you have the bones of a back line that knows the Irish system. This way you'd get a better feel for how some of the other units will function in a test set up. What I mean is I don't see what the coach will learn by playing 15 inexperienced players but if there are a couple if experienced units he'd be in a better position to gauge how a player will perform.

In saying that I'd have him ahead of D'arcy for the first 15.

More than likely bullshít, those pop up for every game just redirecting to some dud website for traffic. If its not being televised there wont be any stream.

    Sorry about that.

I've edited my post maybe people who quoted it could edit theirs to stop people clicking on it.

ah it's not a direct link anyway, just one to the thread so no harm.

Would have been wishful thinking for a stream !

Bit late now but anyone going to the game with a tripod and a camera could have recorded it and uploaded it later tonight. I'd just like to see it. Cannot believe I'm even having to type this in this day and age. I've seen local GAA games live streamed online. Madness.

    Is there twitter updates?

Edit: Apparently there's matchday live updates from the IRFU's site: http://matchdaylive.irishrugby.ie/index.php

  • Registered Users Posts: 522 ✭✭✭Raisins

I looked around for radio or even live text updates and I don't see any chance of either so far. I'll be very surprised if irishtimes.com don't do live updates. They do live updates for everything else under the sun.

Edit: Seems there are updates from IRFU.

With the lack of TV coverage. Does this mean there is no TMO available or for that matter, review tapes available to the citing officer?

I didnt say there was no point I just dont understand why its being played in Gloucester with no coverage. I know its game time but so would a game against Connacht which fans could get to and which the IRFU would be able to televise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Agreed. The game is worth the ticket price I feel - good opportunity to get some rust off the players before the tour. Absolutely scandalous to not televise/cover it considering the England and Wales games are being televised.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Given up - have trawled everything for radio coverage and there's not even anything on local Gloucester stations. It really is unreal that the Baa-Baas vs England game got full coverage but not this.

Most recent update says penalises Loughney for dropping the scrum, Loughney's not in the starting lineup???

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

Combination of matchdaylive feed and IRFU twitter, Chris Henry getting a turnover after Baa Baa's break, and they're dominating possession apparently

  • Posts: 0 ✭✭✭✭ Ariana Repulsive Sordidness

8 updates in 11 minutes of rugby...

    ugh, 9 BaaBaas try

Reference to Gilroy's "dancing feet" on twitter, so must have been a good finish

2 tries on Gilroy's wing so far?

    a recurring sentence this year

" Good hands from Wallace and Cave."

this is where video becomes essential to see if gilroy is struggling defensively

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 556 ✭✭✭leonard7

O'Mahony sounds like hes made a few good runs

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

    Earls score?

edit : both gilroy and mahony involved in setting it up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,468 ✭✭✭DylanJM

Earls in for a try from a POM offload.

Correct me if I'm wrong but 11 is left-wing where both tries were scored, and Zebo is 11?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

2 tries on Gilroy's wing so far?

Given that Sackey made the first try, it's hard to know where the tries were scored.

    Earls try.

  • Registered Users Posts: 817 ✭✭✭Kayless

    Gilroys on fire! 12-12

  • Posts: 0 ✭✭✭✭ Ariana Repulsive Sordidness

Gilroy making all the yards in attack. Earls gets on the scoreboard.

AGAIN a mistake on matchdaylive / twitter as both O'Mahony and Muldoon are said to have given the final offload.

Game turned pro 17 years ago, and we still have to put up with this amateur hour stuff.

Commentary means babas left wing though I'd say which would be our right where Gilroy is.
