Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Anyone know about qualifying for CID?!!
Can anyone clarify what this term from circular 0035/2009 means?!
    To be eligible for CID
"s/he has had in excess of 4 years continuous teaching service, under two or more successive written contracts of employment with the same employer that were paid for out of monies provided by the Oireachetas"

Does it mean one must be working in a school 4 years and have at least 2 continual contracts done within those 2 years to be eligible?

You need 4 years in succession. The most critical thing is to be sure that no objective ground is written into the contract.

An objective ground is a reason for not offering a cid for example if you were replacing A teacher on career break for four years the school could not offer you a cid as the previous post holder has an entitlement to return. Of course if te career break was only for say the first year then this year would be reckonable for cid purposes. The objective ground must be in the final fixed term contract and must be genuine. It is not unheard of gore a reason to be plucked from the sky and placed in the final contract.

Also the number of hours in the 4th year determines the number of hours in the cid. If you work in a VEC all contracts need not be in the same school as the VEC is the same employer.
