Piano Player Required, blues, some Jazz, Paid Gigs

    Hi,

    Galway City based Band Looking for a piano player who can improvise live with high degree of musicianship, play blues/boogie, rock and roll and some jazz with gigging experience. Thinking of the likes of Lou Martin, Reese Wynans, Booker T, Ray Manzarak, Ray Charles (not looking for something that particular but just to give an idea of our orientation).

    We draw from a large pool of songs so looking for commitment, someone who really enjoys playing this style of music.

    The Band are all about 28 years old, and are very much a live band, look to give a lot energy and entertainment as well as great music. We improvise a lot on stage, take Walk on hot coals/ a million miles away by Rory Gallagher as a good example of what we like to do (Sections at end of Song on Irish Tour 74 Version)

    Own transport is important (especially if you have 88keys), not absolute necessity but big help (3/4 in the band drive but from different areas). Vocals are a big bonus, as would playing another instrument as keys won't be required for every tune (though will be used in the majority of tunes).

    The band play Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll Boogie, Soul, Funk, and more Rock Orientated material, we are currently a 4 piece with Guitar Bass Drums Vocals. I (the guitar player) play some Trumpet, Mandolin, Harmonica also. We are booked for gigs and are professional, looking to broaden our sound, continue gigging in pubs and make a dent in Irish festivals.

    We play a lot of Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Animals, Soul from likes of Sam and Dave, James Brown, Otis Redding, rock and roll, little Richard. Kenny Burrell, Steve Brubeck, Wilson Pickett, Steppenwolf, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Doors, Isley Brothers, thin lizzy, pink floyd, kingsmen, ray charles, human beinz, creedence clearwater revival,freddie king, primus, deep purple, sabbath, Hendrix, Howlin'wolf, zeppelin, muddy waters, yardbirds, white stripes, ramones
