I swear to God. BBC have copies of everything they ever put out. RTE recorded over a lot of their stuff, to save money ! It's an absolute scandal

    Ah, that's not true Ally.

They have lost lots of Doctor Who, Dad's Army, Top of The Pops and many others.

The BBC were nearly as bad as RTE until about 1980 for taping over irreplacable TV Gold.

HAHAHAHAH fair play pat, we're all planks compared to gaybo. Think he makes a better guest than he ever was as a host-much more relaxed, naturally.

Tubs talking to Pat and Gay has to be the single best interview tubs has done in his career

not true, they have huge gaps in their archives for the same reason, the cost of buying and storing magnetic tape. They sometimes put out public appeals for shows taped from tv

Too much emphasis on misery clips, as ever.

Lighten it up, RTE. It is meant to be a celebration.

What was Pat tearing up the ticket all about (must have missed that episode.....)

The guy who won it was a prick, think he said he wasnt bothered about the golden ticket for the Toy Show. Pats reaction was spontaneous and great

Fair enough. I believe Bob Monkhouse had a huge private archive of recorded stuff. Something like 80,000 VHS tapes off the telly

Pat Kenny's finest moment. With the benefit of hindsight, he wasn't actually that bad.

It was actually an elderly lady who said that they should draw for the tickets again! Pat interrupted and tore up the tickets in a fit of faux rage.
