Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just looking for any ideas of things to do with my girlfriend.

We are both nearly 20 and would take all ideas into account so if you know of anything interesting please let us know.

We don't mind travelling too far.

    Thanks a lot.

There's loads of nice parks around the city, having a picnic in any one of them on a sunny day won't break the bank and would be really nice.

Also there's a lot of good tours available: Dublin Castle, Dublinia, literary tours etc.

Comedy Cellar in South William Street
    Guinness Store House
Dart to Howth for a walk and fish and chips in Beshoffs
Dart to Dunlaoire for a walk on the pier
Check out Irish Offshore Sailing in Dunlaoire too for one for their morning sailing courses
Go around the Museums, they are free
    Numerous Pubs and Clubs
    Laughter Lounge
Go see a play in Grand Canal
Go see the book of Kells in Trinity
Go for a pint in the Bank Bar, the interior is savage.

To be honest there is a million and one things to do in Dublin

Check out www.gosailing.ie for a sailing trip around the bay. I have seen them out there and it looks like fun. I have abs no connection with them.

I know it may seem like an olde farty thing to do but look at going to the theatre. It's a great experience and makes you feel like you're doing somethings special.

Go to the Deer Park Hotel and climb up Howth hill behind the hotel. Fantastic view.

Gang of us in work did this, it's good craic
Takes you from the IFSC down as far as Dalkey and back again.
I think they go North too but we didn't do that trip

You get wetsuits, if there is another boat there they'll be racing and splashing each other :)

The skipper gives you some local history and if you're lucky you'll see some seals

I did the Viking Splash tour with a bunch of pals and had an absolute hoot. If you act like a kid and take part in the roaring and stuff you will have great fun.

Have you any of your own ideas about what you'd like to do? Then you could check if it's possible in Dublin.

Otherwise you'll get a million and one things that are possible but of no interest to you.

Option one-million-and-two - Spend a day with your girlfriend researching things to do in Dublin. And decide together :)

Indeed ... and anyway ... what kind of girl is she ? action adventure ? or a girly girl ? Sporty and physical ? or hang out ?

Don't bother going to the zoo, way too expensive for what you're getting.

Nonsense! The zoo is great. And well worth the admission.

Plenty of farmers markets on today, have a wander around them. Get some food, have a nice walk around town and top it off with something like the zoo.

    Now now ladies!

Yeah there are way better zoos, but it's still a great day out! As long as it's sunny. It's awful otherwise :P
