    So just finished second year...just looking for 3rd year history students tips and experiences of 3rd year history modules, specifically electives and case studies... were there exams essays etc...

    Have a look through the third year modules and see what ones you like. Post up a rough list and we'll try advise. That beats going through every module ever done!

    Irish Film History
    3.
    The United States and the Vietnam War 1945-1975
    4. Irish Economic and Social History during the Union
    5.
    Culture and ideology in nineteenth-century Europe

    Also was just wondering about peoples experiences on thier seminars...

    International Relations is quite good from what I hear. Geoff Roberts had it last year and it was geared from the Soviet direction. Nevertheless, still interesting.

    US and Vietnam, highly recommended. Not sure if David Ryan is running it but it's a very interesting area.

    Seminars: I did Andrew McCarthy's Health and Politics in Independent Ireland. It was OK. Nothing special. If I had a new choice I would have taken something else but time table conflicts were an issue.
