Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It needs a beginning (Baby's Shoes) middle (Never Worn) and an end (For Sale:).

Most of the stuff in this thread are just statements.

The strict rules stifled everyone's creativity.

The jealous poster (beginning) wanted (middle - creates mystery) more thanks (end - solves mystery).

Not really, a lot of short stories are just "middle". Novels have to have beginning, middle and end, but short stories (in general) are supposed to give you a snapshot of the life of the character at a particular moment in time. So you can get away without a clear-cut beginning and end if you want!
