I only have a disc of R type delta!

I think I'm going to move onto more PS1 collecting this year.

PS1 collecting is really great. Just make sure to get in with the NTSC suff to begin with. I've about 100 PS1 PAL games, now. Too far along to change :(

So I got "Akai Katana" today from Amazon for the mighty price of £5.98 brand new.
Just stuck it on the 360 (hooked up to the cab) and noticed no 4:3 option :(
Thought it would have looked really well on the arcade monitor but the 16:9 aspect takes away a lot. You can move and stretch it but I was really hoping for that magical "aspect ration" option.

Also got a couple of those "Mobile Cloth" things to clean my iPad/iPhone/iWhatever and it does a great job. But they're also excellent at cleaning up the retro gear and I'd highly recommend giving them a try as you don't use any chemicals at all.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009VWF2BA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
In the battle to eliminate Fingerprints and Germs from Touchscreens world wide a Revolution has begun. The Commander-in-Chief, MOBiLE CLOTH, is made of a unique high tech split micro-material consisting of fibers 100 times thinner than a human hair! It is woven into a special pattern which we call "nubs". Each nub acts like hundreds of tiny suction cups to pull fingerprints smudges, and germs away from the surface of your device and into the cloth with one or two swipes. No water or cleaning solution is needed. (You may want to dampen the cloth with water if you have dried debris or other contaminants)

Sounds like a load of sales bull$h1te but they really do work well.

It's been a long time since I played it but I was sure that of the three modes available, arcade mode was 4:3, the other two were widescreen guff. This was the Japanese version.

Origin mode is the 4:3 direct port of arcade version.

Hmm, I'll have to check it out tonight again and look for this "original mode".

    Cheers guys

Bloody annoying though isnt it? It's something similar which I'm experiencing with Under Defeat HD.

They give you two versions. The new fancy one in widescreen with updated HD visuals and then the old arcade port in the correct aspect ratio.

But why can't they include the arcade port with fancy visuals?

Got an mk1 board before Christmas but it was missing a cable between the main board and sound board.

Got this repro one from Bob Roberts in the states.

Worst thing is that there is another problem now. A loud humming with very faint sound effects.

The gurus over on arcade museum reckon it could be a capacitor issue. Ffs

Had a good look over it there and I can say it is 100% worth every penny. This simply will put a smile on your face. I won't say much to keep it spoiler free for those waiting to open their own.

The artwork is wonderful, the history and timeline of all of the Zelda games is very well done with lots of detail and the special edition comic that is included is even kept in right to left format to maintain the original orientation of the artwork.

Some nice easter eggs in terms of artwork, characters and places that didn't make it into the games too. Some typically playful nintendo humor found in the artwork too.

Dark Horse's attention to detail is tremendous and the quality of the book itself is fantastic.

    Overall: 9/10

I docked a point because even though it is wonderful in every way, I can't help but feel that a nice Zelda cover or sleeve to protect it could have been included. (But thats just me nitpicking)

Not pyongyang but a re-reg none the less

The artwork is quite different alright, & the Genny one does look quite generic so good choice.

A rereg but not the Pyongster...hmm. Who else loves their NTSC-J stuff...
