Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just got a lovely bit of wall candy, one of my favourite Megadrive covers too so should look great framed if I can sort out some of the folds.

Haha woah! Has he got much feedback? I'd be pushing to have him banned for that.

Actually... isn't he located in the US?

It's an Irish seller with a decent amount of feedback but with some negative mixed in.
Says I'm being cheeky asking him if he could either stop using txt spk or at least use punctuation, so I can understand the replies a bit better.
Offered me €30 refund after I return the game. I paid forty and will have to pay like ten to return with registered post.

Want me to call up when he calls over? Since I work on a farm I usually have a lot of intimidating stuff in my boot

Off the top of my head I know I have a hatchet and a chainsaw in there at the moment, aswell is a slasher

    any links to his profile?

Seriously though if he does threaten you in any way ,which it sounds like he did, that's assault, just hold onto those messages, so you have him by the short and curleys if he doesnt **** off and give you a refund

Indeed, he opened up a different can of worms altogether if he's using threatening language. Be careful your replies aren't inflammatory just in case you ever do need to take it further.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,565 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

I think I might just leave it, as the address he has is my parents house and if it did escalate I wouldn't want him going there.
I have been nothing but cordial throughout.
I got the game eventually on the 9th of May at my parents house but I hot it myself yesterday and opened up the discussions, will that affect my paypal claim.
He also is claiming with paypal that he packed it well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,135 ✭✭✭fifth

I'd file that claim, get him banned from adverts. Then when/if he comes looking for the game, get the guards on him and keep the game.

    Win win win.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,641 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

He's only using that language to intimidate and draw the issue to a close.
I'd take him to the cleaners.
And remind him that you have a copy of everything he has emailed/Pm'd you and can provide them to the Gardaí
Let him know that you'll be expecting a refund and you'll be keeping the item.
I'd get moderators from Adverts involved as well, did you take a picture of the package when you opened it?
Anyway, sorry for all the hassle you're having.

You can report PMs on adverts too cant you? I'd at least make sure to do that on any of the threatening ones and get him banned.

    Who's the seller ?

Edit was it talerun ? He's a Nice Guy send him pictures and explain the problem, I think he may sort u out in some way, as I've never had any problems with him.

If they really are trying to clean up their website removing sellers like that would be a good start.

Adverts admins will probably tell you to sort it out yourself.

If I was you I'd put a claim into PayPal and if there's anymore hassle remind him you have evidence of assault you can show to the gardai. If it escalates then go to the gardai. He's just being a bully and you shouldn't have to take that.

I got a yoke today. I got some other yokes but those are yokes for other yokes. I've two more yokes coming tonight but one of them isn't actually a yoke. It's just sort-of-a-yoke.

    Sort of. :)

First yoke. A NOS (I think. If it isn't it's bloody well convincing) Sega Saturn 4mb Memory Card. This is hopefully going to work with Dezeamon 2 (which I picked up last week).

    GaCCHYC.jpg

Got an official 1mb Memory Card coming as I type this. Those are reportedly the only cards that work with the Dezaemon Backup Manager (or BUM for short :D). Hoping the 4mb card works though as I want to paint the 1mb one a gunmetal colour and make a Devil Blade 2 cart like that yoke yer man made ages ago with a yoke.

The other yokes are trundling along in a yoke on their way to the yoke down the road. If they arrive tonight I'll get in the yoke to go to the yoke to get the yokes.

    Rapid craic. :D

I didn't mention any names, could you edit the moniker out of your post and I'm not saying it was that seller.
Anyway, it looks like it's being sorted now and the seller has said he did not mean to come across as threatening.
And I'll be happy with that.

So move along, nothing to see here.

Holy ****. Just making a call on this thing is fecking amazing.

It's actually brilliant. I had doubts the moment I bought it, but going through it now and doing some simple tasks like text and calls is just excellent.

The microphone built in to the strap is brilliant. I was on a call and making a cuppa at the same time, I thought the mic would be too quiet or I woukd have to have it next to my face for the other party to hear me.

    No such bother at all.

What the hell is the deal with the negative reviews on these things? They're utterly epic. Bloody well knew it would be. The doubts at the time of purchase are completely gone.*

*ask me again in a month when it's in the sock drawer fermenting. :D

I don't think I've seen one good review of it. Is it decent???

Yep. First impressions are anyway. Took about 2 minutes to set up, less than that.

Making and answering calls is great. The mic is excellent too. Voice dial works just fine in my experience too.

It did an update on boot listing a few fixes etc. Maybe that was a big change from review copies?

I have the apps I need on it to notify me and thats that. More time spent reading books, 3DS or Vita gaming than idly thumbing around my phone on the commute now.

So far this thing has proved to be very handy (wristy?) indeed. Sure, it's a bit superfluous perhaps. Glad I got one now though and I never read a single positive review either.

Nope. That was what I was thinking about. You feel compelled to do that, but the mic pickup so far has been superb.

You can even get Snake for it. :D

How are you hearing the calls with it?

Is there a loud speaker or a headphone socket or what?

I think the Moto 360 is the most stunning looking smart watch so far, hopefully it will get to market.

That gear is definitely the nicest looking of the square ones I've seen so far though, how much did you get it for?

You know what? The mic on it is brilliant. I think anyone that's reviewed one and been critical of it needs their ears syringed. There is no jack on the device itself, it's all bluetooth. Which is fine by me for my needs but may not be for others. You can control a STB with it, and your TV too with the IR blaster. Control music. Streaming devices etc.

I'd love to see Chromecast control added to it. Or Plex or something. I've added eBay, Twitter and Gmail so far. All are working great. So is the voice dialling, even when you're saying Irish names it seems to pick up on them and get it right.

There is also a 'dog whistles' app on it in the Gear Manager store thing. My dog thinks it's ace..... no really she does! :D

Really liking this watch so far. Glad I ignored the eejit reviews now.

EDIT: Noticed I didn't answer your question at all there sorry. The watch has a mic and speaker built in. The volume is loud enough and I only have it set to about halfway. It's easy enough to flick the call audio between your phone, a bluetooth mic or the watch etc. It's pretty cool that you can chuck settings around all over the place without having to faff on your phone.

Or even if you need to give a phone number. I can look it up with a voice command and flick it over to someone via the watch or just read it out. In essence it's just a nice device to compliment a phone if that's your thing. :)
