Theres a charity shop by me that has loads of TV's for 5-15 euro. I'll be out on monday to pick up a big one and a small one.

Any particular brands to look out for or just the usual really?

Try to get a big 29 inch 4:3 Sony Trinitron like my one above. Then there's also that Bang and Olufsen Beovision that Andrew76 has - looks really amazing. Would be far less common than that trini though (could always just look out for a 29 and a small portable trini)

I saw a, I'd say, a 27 inch samsung, hopefully its still there monday. I'll get some other tiny tv aswell and see if I can hook it up in the middle of all my shelving with a nes or something

Good luck, looking forward to seeing the results ;)

I really really want a little portable television for that true to life childhood experience. Stick it up in the bedroom and escape away sometimes with bags of 10p crisps and woppa bars. :D

There was a console TV there, only RF input but it would look amazing with a Atari 2600 woody if anyone is interested in it

I'm going to be getting a new crt in the next week or two, I'll be selling or trading a 29" Sony tv then so if someone is interested I'll be posting it on the trading forum.

Of course this all on condition I can get
1 The new tv fits up the stairs.
2 The Sony fits down the stairs.

Might have to swing the new tv in through the games room window!

if playing a game in 60hz is more important than the actual gameplay, you're doing it wrong imo.

    Em, ok?

if playing a game in 60hz is more important than the actual gameplay, you're doing it wrong imo.

    So basically:

Disregard the fact that NTSC-U/J is far cheaper to collect for?
Disregard the fact that the larger screen size improves my perception of the gameplay?
Disregard the fact the the full speed of the game improves my perception of the gameplay?
Disregard the fact that I've many other PAL games for other systems?
Disregard the fact that personal choice is in any way relevant?

If your going to make presumptuous, begrudging type comments, you're doing it wrong. Imo.

I know, there really is no excuse!!! Especially coming from yourself, the guy who's modded at least three devices in which I can output Sonic in 60hz :D

But playing in 50hz affects the gameplay... really really badly.

if playing a game in 60hz is more important than the actual gameplay, you're doing it wrong imo.

Considering the fact that the game is running at 60 frames per second positively affects the controls and gameplay in a massive way compared to 50 frames per second, I think you're the one doing it wrong there.

They will work, there's no difference or region locking between GB games.

Not retro. But I picked this up today. It was surprisingly hard to find considering its fresh release today. Must admit I'm disappointed in what comes with the disc version :( No artbook, no soundtrack, not even art inside the sleeve. But cant wait to get stuck in again. This could be long night. :D

Just got an amazing deal from one of the lads over in the fighting game forum - I really don't know how it wasn't snapped up sooner.

Felt bad paying such a cheap price (20 euro!), but he's moving away and needs to clear everything out.

One thing I really did not expect, was for it to come boxed and in absolutely pristine condition - and a Japanese box too!

Here's some box porn for all my bearded box lover brethren out there. :pac:

    DSC_0001-2.jpg

And here's the stick itself. Oh, I forgot to mention, it's modded with seimitsu parts! :)

    IMG_0315.jpg

Looks like it's never really been used

    IMG_0316.jpg

    Dreamcast seimitsu twins.

So now I just need to find myself a player 2 for some Ikea cocktail shmup goodness!!

Oh that jap Saturn Virtua stick that you had a look at? Forgot that was upstairs!

Which means nope, it's still exactly the same way it was when you reassembled it unfortunately!

Had great plans to get one of those cthulhu adapters and put arcade parts in it but it never happened in the end.

I either need to get a yellow mesh ball for the other one, or a plain ball for the mesh one. Can't decide!

Also don't know whether to get a shaft cover for the new one or just remove the one on the yellow stick. They need to be uniform...!

Fecking different level at Street Fighter tho, scary ****.

Picked up Andro Dunos earlier today. What an amazing hori shooter, normally quite meh towards them but this is brilliant fun. Better than R-Type and Blazing Star put together! :p

Gorgeous looking visuals, fabulous audio and excellent gameplay. Not that easy either. I'm not sure if it's emulated in Mame but if it is, then definitely give it a try if you like shooters in general. I don't have the means to take decent quality video so pics will have to do. :)

Used Parcel Motel and the Belfast address redirected to down south to save on postage. Was posted from the UK on Friday so really fast delivery too. Will definitely use that again.

Just checked. Andro Dunos is on the list for the 161 in 1 cart. Will check that out when I get home tonight. Not sure about Mame.

What parcel motel did you use Andrew? None in the sunny south east which is a pain. Luckily there's one near me in Ballsbridge. I've only used it once bit its a great way to get around the expense of shipping pcbs from the UK.
