Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just on the final stretch in Order Of Eccelsia myself. Great game. Also, Dawn Of Sorrow is fantastic stuff too.

I'll add your positive review to the list if why I should get it. Only problem is I can't seem to get one for a decent price.

I have a hard enough time finding them fullstop! I had to borrow them to play through them. I've only ever spotted Order of Eccelsia on a shelf once, and I've never seen the others in the shops.

    Woohoo, 20,000 posts! :pac:

Thought I'd treat myself as I'm so bloody sick at the moment, picked up an unemulated Namco system 10 game called Gamshara. It's a Capcom/Mitchell release. Plays like an updated version of Cabal/Nam 1975.

There's something I really like about the look of those System 10 boards.

This was waiting in my Parcel Motel earlier.

It only took two hours to do the update after multiple failures! Sheesh..

Also... it works flawlessly from the toilet. :P

Also got a little book case for my neo geo MVS carts. Those neo mini boxes look really snazzy lined up I think!

Must put in an order for the rest of my carts.

It's a pity that an awful lot of the big sellers look absolutely dreadful now, thanks to the magic of polygon counts in the tens!
That said, Wipeout 2097 and 3 S/E, Rollcage 2, F1 97, kinda seems that Psygnosis were to the PS1 what Konami were to the Snes.
But, yeah, nice to have a good PS collection and they play well in original hardware, advantage of the PS3 as host to PS games is no need for memory cards, just virtual ones and you can transfer data from the PS3 to a proper mem card, with the right adapter (which I have!).
PSones are attractive machines too, hard to chip though, great to pick up a screen, official one natch!

Just got Raiden Legacy for my Android phone.
It's a compilation of 4 games, the Fighters series, Jet and the original.
I haven't played much of it but seems interesting and was only a fiver.

Are the scores at the top of the screen cut off for you?

How accurate and responsive are the touch screen controls ?

Perfect once you leave the "Fast Touch" option on. When I changed it to "Arcade Touch" it was a bit wonky. Playing it on the N7 if that makes any difference.

I'm finding the controls erratic and my stumpy old fingers obscure too much of the screen.
Pity there is no bluetooth option so I could just use a Wiimote.

Pity about the bluetooth, I've the same problem with fast paced games -can never seem to hit the right part of the screen accurately..

I think I'll buy the Ipad edition as well, it is compatible with the iCade so I'll have a Raiden Legacy Mini-cab!
    That's a mini-cab like this

    Well, Well....
Bought the IOS version of Raiden Legacy and, yes, it works just fine with the Icade!
Some have noted that there appears to be some slight lag, but I think it has more to do with the heavy switches used in the Icade itself.
But, never mind, I now have a little arcade cab of Raiden games, no Raiden II or DX sadly, but the rest are great.
One other thing, the scaling to full screen is fine but there is no scanline filter, only a slight antialiasing one, perhaps in an update.

You can reproduce the scanline effect on the ipad with a fine tip permanent marker and a ruler. No need to thank me.

    Mini versus maxi!

I was going to sit this at a desk, but kind of like it here as it means you can run two consoles at the same time.

    IMG_0410.jpg

Something really annoying happened though. I got my 6 din to scart adapter today in the post. Finally! I can hook some stuff up to it.

Brought the monitor down, set it up - went to plug in the scart adapter - it's a bloody 6 din MINI cable and the monitor takes a standard one.

    Argh!!!!!!

Semi result - my hatred of composite made me miss the composite ports on the back. Connected it up and it works! well, sort of. Sound out of the thing is amazing, picture is crystal clear too - but it's black and white :(

The only composite cables I still have left are for NTSC consoles. And of course they're outputting 60hz and the monitor only likes 50hz.

Looks like I'll have to try to find a mini din 6 to standard din 6 adapter before I can play things properly in colour over scart.

Haven't bought anything for ages and have some small small amounts of money free so figured I'd get some Christmas treats!

Have Super Turrican 1 and love it, and I'm always trying to pickup the so called "rarer" games.

    1fc1c1c2db5852e08ffc380475e2633643dba9a2a7133a5555153aeeb103d482.jpg

Have this in NTSC-J but anytime I play it with someone there put off cause they can't read the captions in game. The cart is so much sweeter too. A Real classic, way above its time, the big sprites, mostly bosses aren't normal for a snes game.

Classic game, plus I can use the snes mouse. Always wanted this one.

That reminds me. I must keep an eye out for another copy of MK: Shoalin Monks. Absolutely loved that game, but gave a loan of it to a friend back in the day, and never saw it again.

So yeah don't let curiosity get the better of you like I did.

Was it enough that I installed homebrew channel on the Wii Menu on the Wii U?

Nope... I had to try and restore the trucha bug then install cios 222 to try and enable USB support.

I now have a Wii U that crashes when loading the Wii Menu with no obvious way of reinstalling it. D'oh.

Yeah... I've already filled in the Nintendo repair thingy and will have a shipping label sent to me soon.

Going to play dumb and say that it just started doing that one day. To be honest I may wait until a system update is released to see if that fixes it.

I can live without Wii Mode considering that I have an original Wii anyway.

I'd say they'll repair it for you, just play dumb like you said. I'm not sure an update would fix it as the updates contrary to popular belief are not the full os etc

Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting CPS-1/JAMMA board and a SF2:CE marquee.
All need a little cleaning and TLC but it works!

Of course, the day I get it is the day I send my arcade monitors chassis off for repair. Fingers crossed i get it back next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,920 ✭✭✭TechnoFreek

Nice haul kerb. What machine they going in?

It's hardly the Atomiswave that needs the chassis repaired already?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭KeRbDoG

Nice haul kerb. What machine they going in?

It's hardly the Atomiswave that needs the chassis repaired already?

It should be going in the BAS arcade cab I picked up last week via boards/adverts. Old British made cab, some defunk'd company in London made them. The chassis of the screen needs some TLC so its gone off to Error24 CRT monitor repair to be overhauled. The screen is from 1991 and when I was taking it apart it had a repair sticker of 96 and from looking that repair was shockingly messy/bad. Hopefully he can clean it all up.
On a side note, the marquee is too big for the cab  it would be bad if I cut it down a good bit right?

The Atomiswave is currently in work with no system in it, building a MAME PC for it but will need to install more buttons for the menus, coins etc. Then I'd need to set it up for auto shut off. A mini UPS maybe? A little over the top. Folks want to play the classis, the NeoGeo wasn't a winner. They want SF2, Pacman, Bubble Bobble. I haven't seen/found a good multi board to cover those yet :( Suggestions welcome!

Additional purchase today - a PCIe ArcadeVGA 3000. Hungover purchase which doesn't make sense as I have a VGA->CGA converter incoming also. Ah well, I will find a use for them or Ciderman might sneak a cab into his place to get a use out of them
