I must have watched it every day for almost ten years. Was by far the best thing on television.
I still watch it almost everyday unless it's the new OP, oldies are still the best but in the middle of old and the new OP are some decent episodes.
Hank Scorpio was on the other day, one of my favourites

The Hank Scorpio episode was always my favourite when I was a kid. Always loved when it came on :)

There are very few episodes I'll watch after season 10. It's just not the same show really.

My favourite episode, as a kid and even now ... hmm, I guess ... Treehouse of Horror V (the one with the Shining, the time traveling toaster and the teachers start eating the students - dat Uterbraten)

Don't broadcasters just buy the rights to air certain parts of The Simpsons archive, like set seasons and whanot? So, it might be true.

Simpsons and WWF the 90s were deadly. It even had the most deadliest rivaliest rivalry ever, Blur vs Pooasis.

I dunno which treehouse of horror it is but the one with presidential election is priceless and I almost never like treehouses.

Favourite episode is a hard question though. The cartridge family is most definitely up there, cat burglar was so great but mountain of madness gets it for me tonight folks.

I am, of course, referring to Simpsons episodes, some films of his were awful but not his fault, like Bilko :(

And then his drug addled wife shot him in his sleep, bugger....

Just picked up a very big part of my childhood for 60euro on adverts. Won't sell this one like I did my last one. Stupid move that was!

Included was console, 9games, 2controllers, rumble pack, leads.

Got this as the connection to the telly looks like directly in to the telly which I assume means I need to time it in. Is there a cheap cable I can get to make my life easier or is this on the best/normal for N64. I had one years ago but can't remember what was with it. Also I'll be using the flat screen we have LG LED telly don't know if that helps/not. Have no other telly.

Nice, its nice when you recapture some lost youth in buying a console you had years ago. You'll want to order one of the svideo cables from consolegoods though (get a pal one assuming thats a pal n64 because the ntsc ones are different), that rf cable is just nasty.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,641 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

There are plenty of inexpensive av cables available online, shouldn't cost more than a few euro.
Same composite cable will work with Game cube and Snes, as well as N64

Its well worth getting the n64 svideo cable, there's a huge jump in quality over the bog standard rf & av cables

Cheers for that I'll look at their site in a minute.

It really is nice to recapture the n64. Even seeing it in the flesh again was a weird feeling. Holding the cartridges for the first time in over a decade!

Bit dearer than a few euro ciderman

    Any cheaper elsewhere anyone?

Seriously, just get the consolegoods cable. You might save a few euro on a AV composite cable but that few euro could have gotten you a huge increase in graphical fidelity on every N64 game you will play. AV composite, particularly on the N64 looks terrible. It will be the best thing you will buy for your N64.

Also the only place that makes PAL N64 s-video cables is consolegoods so you will have to buy it there, but as I said, if you are going to stick with a PAL console it will be the best purchase you will make.

The price is irrelevant when we're talking about RF/Comp -> RGB!
Edit: I say RGB because the RGB is a pound more than composite and well worth it.

Unless you have a modded NTSC console or a very obscure model of the French Secam PAL N64 then RGB doesn't work.

Aww that sucks. I just ordered one >_>

It will work on a gamecube or, with a very easy mod, a snes. Both consoles look glorious in RGB.

Fair enough so I'll bit the one from consolegoods.

It's actually £9.90 sterling the N64 specific one he has on the site but if it's worth it I'll get it.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

I have a s-video cable. Any RGB cable I've used gave sound but no picture. I'm just wondering if rob has found a way to mod RGB cables for PAL N64.

Pins 7, 15, 19 and 20 on an RGB scart cable carry S-video, so it's probably possible to mod it.

No point really though when you can just buy an S video cable cheap instead.

I think the OP was talking about the svideo cable though? I also don't think its possible to just mod the cable itself to obtain rgb, unless rob has some kind of circuit board & amp built into the cable itself which is unlikely...

Got a few things this week but nothing retro. Got Code of Princess and Adventure Time on 3DS. Also got Sonic Racing Transformed and Yakuza Dead Souls, they were so cheap it was a sin not to pick them up.

Still on the look out for a second cheap vita memory card. The ones from Hong Kong are tempting me and are about half the price as here.

Yeah it's in the old shopping centre. Didn't spot any of the adapters but I'll let yous know if I come across them.

Was just in dealz in Blanchardstown retail park (the one with the Argos and heatons etc) across from the main shopping centre. They have lots of the 2xPS2 to USB adapters on sale. They're at the front of the shop, right hand side near the checkouts. €1.49 each.

I picked one up, cos for that price you'd be mad not to. Thats a great shop for little computer related doodads, card readers, usb cables etc. They charge a fraction of the price you'd pay across the road in PC World and the likes.

Think I finally have a 3DO! And it's practically being delivered to me, will my local pub. So I can have a few before I play road rash and hopefully the band play some Neil Young to top it off.

It's only a FZ-10 though, I sorry cidey. I think it looks cooler though.

Also got Fire Emblem sacred stones on gba boxed without manual or inner holder for €21 posted. Okay condition. I'm in the process of returning it as I wasn't aware it was missing stuff. However, is that an all right price and should I keep it?
