2012 Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship

    Annual Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship
    Sunday, August 26th., 2012, starting at 12 noon.
    At the Pavilion, Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin.
    The entry fee is €30 and the closing date is August 20th.
    The format will be the best of 9 legs 501 with the semi-finals and final being the best of 11 legs 501.
    The competition will be played down to the last two on the day and the final will take place on Sunday, October 14th., at the City West Hotel, Dublin, on stage before the World Grand Prix final.
    The winner will be invited to compete in the PDC World Championship at the Alexandra Palace in London next December and will be guaranteed a minimum cash prize of Stg. £3,500.

    The Tom Kirby Memorial Championship is open to all darts players, male and female, who are normally resident on the island of Ireland and who will be aged 16 years or over on the commencement of the PDC World Championship next December.

    The Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship is a World Championship qualifier.
    PDPA members who play in this event are not eligible to play in the PDPA World Championship Qualifier in November.

    Anybody in the Dublin area wishing to enter the Tom Kirby Memorial may drop their entries into Alan Byrne in the Patriot's Inn, Kilmainham, on Monday night.

    Remember the closing date is August 20th.

    Monday, August 20th., is the last day for posting entries for the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay.

    Anybody in the Dublin area may hand the entries into Alan Byrne in the Patriot's Inn in Kilmainham on Monday night.

    GURNEY QUALIFIES FOR ALLY PALLY !

    Daryl Gurney defeated Campbell Jackson 6 - 3 in the final of the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay Championship at the City West Hotel and he will now represent Ireland in the PDC World Championship at the Alexandra Palace in London in December.
    In the final the first six legs went against the throw before Gurney went 4 - 3 despite a 180 from Jackson.
    Gurney went on to hit two maximums in the next two legs which he finished in 15 darts apiece to capture the prrestigious title.
