USA: Should I apply for the ESTA waiver or a B2 Visa?

I was arrested and charged for ABH. The charges were dropped and the case was dismissed on the day of the trial. My criminal record is clear and I have no convictions. Despite being arrested, should I apply for a B2 visa or just go ahead with the VISA waiver program?
