Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rally Experience

I'm planning on getting one of these soon and looking for anyone's experiences on them?

From a quick google there are 3 places I'm considering which are Rally School Ireland, Rally Connection and Superdrive.

Would be looking to get into an escort or something RWD. Budget is around 200 euro which all seem to cater for except RSI who look for a bit more.

Has anyone ever been to any of these and what did they think? I'd be interested in hearing peoples opinions. :)

Give Rallyconnection a call, I know the chap who runs it and he's sound plus he'll give you a good spin for your money.

I was also up in Rallyschool ireland and I felt they kept cutting the power to the engine when they though you were getting a little too fast which annoyed me as Id done a good bit of rallying before that day so was well able to handle the car!!

ALthough Im not sure of the rates nowadays but if they're anything like what they were 200 won't really get you much to be honest. You'd be better off getting a few more quid together and getting the full day package.

Did Rallyconnection last year in the Escort
    Fantastic....
Think it was 25 laps for just over 200euro

I did Rallyschool Ireland's full day a few years ago.

Got to drive an Impreza turbo, supercharged Mini and MKII Escort, the Escort was by far the best craic.

Sideways for half of the lap in the Escort, the Mini was all about front end grip, plus a lovely whine from it too. And the Impreza I think was 325bhp, so plenty of power in it. But make sure you get to drive the Escort if you go there.

They all seemed sound too, answered any questions I had, and I learned a lot as the day went on. They talked you through the correct lines to take, your braking points etc etc.

They feed you a lunch too if you do the full day.

My only criticism would be the price. The day cost a whopping €475 I think. (this didn't bother me as it was a gift from the other half).

All in all, a good experience, and I'd recommend it :)

Thanks for the replies guys its food for thought. It is rally I'm looking for, I think an escort would give the most fun for a couple of short bursts. Would love to go all out on a full day but budget would restrict that! :)

hi mr rallyschool, why not try a boards day out promotion, good prices for good numbers?

( run it by the mods first so as not to upset anyone)
