I changed one entry from the order given because I suspected from the predicted max that it was in the order Poznan-Dublin ... By Saturday Rainfall predictions could be at the "mercy" of MT

After the first seven days ...

IMT was 12.8 C

Rainfall stands at 340% of normal for the stations used (eleven) and that guarantees a minimum of 90% at month's end counting today's expected totals and if the rest of the month then went totally dry, so all rainfall from now on will basically push the total well past normal.

Sunshine is estimated at 40% for the first week.

Still, various forecasts can be salvaged if trends shift in the second half of the month.

The 18z METAR for Poznan states temp 16 (dew point 11, light rain) ... this station looks automated to me, all temps have been in whole numbers. However, rounded or not, Deep Easterly and dacogawa were closest at 16.2, nobody was lower, so scoring potential for this part is going to be entirely based on how cold you went.

I was watching it ... could have easily been 2-3 as you predicted, but as it turns out, nobody got the five point insurance, the closest predictions on this were one goal off for either team (all but DE were at 1-2), so Lumi, delw, pauldry, Johnmac, Sponge Bob and DE would have four insurance points, however, most of them won't need them as they scored higher already on Poznan or Dublin (I have not checked the max yet but somewhere around 17, I think?). Sponge Bob looks like he might benefit from the four points. Anyone else who predicted a Croatia win (waterways, traecy1, Tae laidir) gets 3 points (no goal bonus) for insurance points that probably won't be needed, and otherwise I don't see anyone with any insurance. My 3-3 could have verified if let's say the refs were kinder and the shots were just a little more accurate and ... if wishes were fishes etc.

Strange, as the synop for the same time for the same station gave 15.0 °C.

My source at the time was the table of hourly observations listed on Weather Underground. I checked back and they now have both the 18z METAR that I used, and the synop that you used, which I don't recall seeing at 1815z when I posted. Anyway, for the contest it doesn't matter since any temperature under 16.5 would give the same scoring results. I don't know which of the two reports is correct or if they are from two separate recording locations at Poznan.

Meanwhile, the max for Dublin as per the bonus question was 16.9 C. Kindredspirit and Joe Public both guessed that right on the money, and there were a few other very close forecasts.

A minimum of 4.5 C is noted for Mullingar, not sure if that's the extreme value so far.
