I'm not about to complain about pubs being too busy in the current climate, but sometimes you feel like a pint on the weekend however most places can be quite hectic unless you're there early.

Any recommendations for a quiet/relaxed spot on a Friday or Saturday night. It can be our secret.

The old forge, if you don't mind not drinking outside in the sunshine.

    Maybe the Galway Arms?

It's not going to be much of a secret if it's posted on a public forum now is it? :)

Club Aras na gael on a Saturday night is a great spot for a quiet pint with a bit of music. Usually no more that 30 people there and you can head on to monroes or the Roisin after

the old forge is so quiet you'd barely know of its existence and yet you might get caught at one of its one-man-band-nights. wards in lower salthill would be quiet enough as well.

Most of the pubs on Prospect Hill and woodquay while not 'dead' have a more relaxed local atmosphere than what you will find up town if that's what you're thinking of.
