I've seen a few guys walking around the city wearing old US Cavalry style hats ... I think they are corporal level... but in Green. I think they work for CIE or some state org in Dublin.

Wondering where you can them in Dublin, if they're available.

Those are those BIDS tourist information people that I have rarely if ever seen helping a tourist. They just seem to wander around in pairs. I think they might have a booth at College green and Henry street now.

I don't know why they are wearing such stupid looking hats but I doubt they sell them.

They also note down which streets are dirty and need cleaning and send regular reports to the corpo on the matter. The corpo, knowing that every street needs cleaning, places the reports in the vertical filing cabinet I am full sure.

Dublin BID as an org is actually pretty decent, but their envoys or whatever pretentious bull they're called, are absolute useless.

Have you ever stopped to talk to one of them. I have to say that whenever i have spoken to them and asked for information on anything they have always had the answer or been able to find it for me.

I was waiting behind an american tourist who unbelievably couldnt remember where he was staying and the guy in the kiosk talked him through landmarks and buildings and then gave him directions back to his hotel.

I really think anything that can be done to help tourists and locals should be applauded.
