Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rough Idea of Solicitors Fees

I got married last July and we have recently found out that the Marriage Certificate that we and our witnesses signed in the church has been lost and so our marriage has not been officially recognised.
I have gotten a form from the Registration Office to apply for a second copy of the Certificate so that we can complete the process.

My wife and I have to sign this form in the presence of a solicitor.

Can anyone give me an indication of what a service like this should cost?

shouldnt be to expensive, got a grant of probate signed by one a few years bk and it was only a tenner....does it have to be a solicitor that does it??? or is it like a passport where a doctor or priest could sing it?

It has to be a solicitor.
It's turning out to be a serious pain in my ass. Once we get this form signed they'll reissue the Marriage Cert which has to be signed by us and our witnesses, one of whom has emigrated to Oz, meaning it has to be sent to him by courier, signed and then sent back to us.

Got a quote of €20 off a solicitor that I emailed. Seems reasonable enough, I suppose.

€10 per swearing ie per document that needs to be signed is the standard rate.
