Wall Panelling...Paint it or leave it be?

So the other half stuck up a bit of wall panelling in the kitchen last week and its my job to paint it.

The only thing is, it looks pretty good the way it is, but I'm not sure if that's just because we're used to the sight of it now :D

So what's the done thing? Are you supposed to paint it? Is it a real faux pas to leave it as it is? We're total DIY noobs btw.

It's entirely up to you, personal choice, and how it goes with the rest of the kitchen, etc. Just make sure it's treated with something - varnish or paint to help stop moisture, grease and dirt getting in. If you're not sure then varnish it and if you eventually get fed up with that look you can easily paint it later.

Yeah good advice here, maybe try and paint a small section or if u have some left over panelling paint that and see how it looks. Then its easier to make up your mind.
