Pay for criminal damage

    I had to pay a person money for damage I done to there property.
    They got a quote which the the judge seen and told me to pay it.
    So I made the cheque out to the company to repair the damage,
    the judge said that it was fine.End of case......
    A week or so later ther cops rang to say this person wanted the
    cheque changed into his name.So obviously they're not getting the
    damaged fixed.
    Do I have to get the name changed seems as the judge said it was
    to pay for the damage?

    It’s not like you bounced the cheque.
    Seems like the Garda/DPP will have to re-enter it again for to progress it should you not assist, I think the likelihood of that is slim. And as you state the courts were happy with your cooperation as far as it’s concerned its case closed.... file closed.
