    Falcom announcement next week.
Falcom will announce the first details of its next title on August 27th through Famitsu.

According to Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo, Falcom’s next title will be developed on its new game engine and feature considerably improved graphics.

AFAIK no. Don't remember her looking like that.

I'm about six hours into Persona 5 and it's dragging. I think I'd be better off reading a book with the amount of exposition. I'm beginning to think I don't have the patience for RPG's at all any more. Although I did finish Trials of Mana not too long ago. Nostalgia was strong with that one.

Was the same myself for a while but am about 40 hours in and its my main game for playing, managing to get in a couple of hours every few days. It is a bit of a grind until you start leveling up and requests start coming through but I am enjoying it. I will say, the speed up option for combat and for conversation is a godsend.

Not familiar with the speed up for combat. How does that work? Do you skip some of the dialogue too?

If you hit the options button during the cut scenes it massively speeds up the dialogue and only stops when you have to give a response. Likewise with combat, if you press options button the characters will just auto melee attack at a much faster pace until the enemies are defeated, very handy when you are in the dungeons and encounter enemies you know won't cause any difficulties.

Persona 5 is a total drag for the first 10 hours but then the remaining 90 are incredible. You do still get bouts where you're bombarded with dialogue for an hour or so but it becomes far more tolerable as the story and characters evolve. If you're not hooked by the 2nd palace (around 20-25 hours in) then it's probably not for you.

That's exactly it, I dropped it after the first palace and came back to it a few months later. By the end of the second palace I was hooked.

I really feel that the story only gets interesting after the first palace because the characters really start to flesh out more.

A lot of the start is relying on introducing the concept of the game and the first palace gives you an intro to this.

I really got invested in the NPC's, feels like they did a lot of work on fleshing their stories out.

Amazing game, just needs a bit of time to get into it and I can understand where people drop it because of this.

I tend to pick up P5, complete a Palace, and drop it again for maybe 3 months. Think I've only 3 palaces left so next time I pick it up I'm definitely gonna try to push through to the end.

Hmmm, is that not skipping an important part of the game

I had to trade it in after abnout 15hrs game time.

Personally, I find overly talky games a bit of a slog so it doesnt bother me, some of the scenes i dont like the police station interview but for alot of the filler things when you are just hanging out with the other folks i cant be arsed reading through.

Disappointed that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for switch doesn't seem to be getting a physical copy release in Europe that huge cardboard box with the cable cost me a bucket of money way back when. I'm really hoping this digital version is priced modestly

Rainbow Skies and Rainbow Moon mega double pack reduced on the Playstation Store to €11.99. It’s a cross-buy so will work on PS4, PS3 and Vita.

Rainbow Skies seems to get good reviews. Anyone played it before?

Quoting from a different thread, if I may, just cause most of what I'm typing is not about Nintendo Direct.

A Final Fantasy Legends/Saga Trilogy collection? I'm totally on board. Three of the best handheld RPGs of all time. Was playing the first on the OG gameboy recently and it holds up. Day one for me.

I'll gladly take Collection of SaGa (and Collection of Mana). Not played any and lockdown's helped reinvigorate my otherwise semi-lapsed JRPGing in addition to finding the time for longer play sessions.

Have made my way through Dragons Quest I - III (Switch variant) and working on Final Fantasy I (Origins edition) but that's on hiatus for Ghost of Tsushima assuming I get that finished before I have my Anglo-Saxon poop house in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Finished Wild ARMs and found the patience for Suikoden III's polygons in the recent past too.

Collection of Gaia for Soul Blazer, Illusion of Time and Terranigma for release next, plz. Juuust need the latter to tick off a set of games with Mario RPG and Earthbound that caught my interest but I couldn't get access to back in my SNES days. Had convinced myself that Terranigma was US exclusive and didn't find out it was wasn't until this side of the millennium.

They both have almost zero story and are extremely grindy, combat is decent though

    Garbage tbh.

Still playing Ys Seven. I have to say although I'm enjoying it, the big boss battles can be a bit of a slog. I wish there was a bit more exploring between them. Id definitely recommend the game though, I love it for the same reasons I loved cowboy bebop, music, artwork, characters, general quirkiness.

Finished Dragon Quest VI recently and enjoyed it although definitely my least favourite out of the ones I played( IV and V).

Thought having the dream world as a second world map made the game way too long and the job/class system was introduced much later than it should've been.

I've started playing Zanki Zero: Last Beginning on the ps4 as well. Only on the second dungeon but not really enjoying it so far. Moving with the d-pad instead of the analog stick is weird and everything seems to kill you ridiculously fast. Not a fan of having hunger/bladder/stress meters either.

I'll probably start Final Fantasy X on vita sometime soon too.

Rodea the Sky Soldier is being delisted on Wii U and 3DS at the end of the month. Not sure if its any good. Its 4.99 on 3DS store at the moment

Playing FF Tactics on my mobile phone and it's an insanely good port. Really impressed with it and how well it works with the touch screen.

Currently at the end of the second chapter. Finding it a lot easier than my first playthrough as I know to min max to the better classes and how to break the game. Still the first fist at Lionel Castle have me hours of grief with my main team being inconsistent at winning the main fight with no casualties and not lining up with RNGesus smiling upon me with the Ramza and Gafgarrion fight.

About 10 hours into Star Wars - The JRPG; I mean FF XII Zodiac Age. Enjoying it so far. Tinkering with gambits a bit but only have limited options at this stage. Have 4 party members now so need to think about team balance. Been trying to figure out licence boards and they can be intimidating enough. Remember being the same with the skill tree layout in X and it all made sense after a while. Just discovered I can change boards whenever I want to so I'm going to experiment to bit tonight and see what works

Did not get on with the original release of FF12 but Zodiac Age turns it into one of the best RPGs of all time. I finished all the superbosses.... IIRC you have to specialise in FF12, don't spread your license points too thinly, you can't pick everything. So just pick one role and then your secondary role and specialise in them. If you have anxiety over it you can find a list of top tier role combinations.
