Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One image that sums up Ireland?

There was recently a thread on here about the picture of Brian O'Driscoll of the Leinster and Irish rugby team pictured with a sick child with the Heineken cup in the background. The child is obviously thrilled and the OP who posted it said it really summed up the best things about Ireland for him/her.

Some people wouldn't agree with that picture (it was a lovely picture, no doubt) but could you really sum up the mood, atmosphere and spirit of one country in one picture? Wouldn't you be missing out on loads of stuff that make a country and people what it is? Maybe you'd get the best parts, but then wouldn't you miss out on the bad things, which also make us who we are?
